As the name suggests, a testnet is a secure environment for developers to try out and test any functionality of Capitual. Developers can conduct all types of testing on a separate, secure network eliminating any type of risk.

Unlike the testnet, mainnet is the main network of the Capitual, which is run after rounds of tests in the testnet. It is in it where all users operate and different from testnet all transactions are legitimate and have true value. In layman’s terms, it is the real deal.

How do I tell if I am accessing the testnet environment?

As a testnet-related fake funds fraud prevention, Capitual shows, in every email sent from the testnet environment, a red alert similar to the one that shows when you are accessing the testnet website. Furthermore, SMS messages sent from this environment are preceded by the word “FAKE”.

How to enable testnet?

If you are a developer or if you are testing Capitual features, it might be interesting to enable testnet so no real funds are involved on your task.

Follow the instructions below to access testnet environment of Capitual. Note that, as the testnet environment runs in a separate structure, it will be needed to create another account.

Accessing from the computer

Open testnet.capitual.com.

To get back to the mainnet, open my.capitual.com.

Accessing from the smartphones app

Login to your account and open the QRCode reader tool. Read the QRCode below. When asked whether you want to enable testnet, click “yes”.

To get back to the mainnet, read the same QRCode and click “no”.

Accessing from the CapPay POS

Enter your account’s credentials. When asked for your 2-FA token, type “testnet”.

To get back to the mainnet, repeat the procedure.

Accessing the API

Use apitestnet.capitual.com as the host for the API endpoints.

To get back to the mainnet, use api.capitual.com.
